In response to the Art Liggins death in Idaho,
Art Dore stated,
| “It's
an amateur event, and strictly not for profit -- all the proceeds go to
a nonprofit foundation,", |
naming the two stipulations necessary to
proceed without a license in Idaho.
Unfortunately, the non-profit organization
that Art Dore was referring to is his own, the American Boxing and Athletic
Association (ABAA). The ABAA is a non-profit organization that states that
it conducts “Youth Athletic Events”. Yet Toughman is an adult event, not
youth.
Art Dore and the other owners and operators
used the statutes of Idaho to their benefit. Sound like to me he pocketed
the money.
