It's
2007, and what is up? More people have been injured, but nothing has
been accomplished. Here and there a few things here and there that
we a proud of but in general there is still no commission has stepped
forward to lead change. Don't you want to see a better competition,
more competition, and with less risk?
MMA a four letter word?
Concerns over MMA seems to be leading
the question of the day. Do you ban it? Do you regulate it?
What kind of restrictions do we want to place on MMA?
Ban it or Regulate?
Your first question should be is:
What is the problem at hand?
Answer:
We do not have common rules and
regulations in combative sports. Each state is an island unto
itself. They are at the mercy of their own commission, if one even
exists, to determine the rules, codes of conduct, medical requirements,
sanctioning bodies and all the intricacies and nuances that go into MMA,
kick boxing, boxing, wrestling and even martial art programs.
Solution:
Here is the basic process that is
needed to bring commonality to all combative sports but yet no one has
come forward.
Step 1:Commit to the
betterment of Combative Sports
Step 2:Write it down in a
form that all can use
Step 3:Control existing
events, while stopping those in question
Step 4:Pass changes as
legislation
Step 5:go back to step 1
Why are they scared?
If you have to ask just follow the
money trail. Just remember that the states don't want to loose the
revenue generated. If a commission increases cost by say, adding a
health regulation, it is much cheaper to go to the next state over.
Hence the reason why most commissions don't act.
Prove me wrong
commissioner!!
